Role

We are seeking an experienced Molecular Biologist to join our Antibody Discovery Team. The Research Associate will work in a small team that uses molecular biology to build our Antibody Library Platform. The associate will work closely with our antibody engineering, computational biology, and DNA sequencing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plating and liquid culture of yeast
  • Molecular cloning in yeast and bacteria
  • Antibody library construction
  • Collect, organize, and analyze constructed libraries with emphasis on quality control
  • Meticulous maintenance of library stocks for internal and external deliveries

Needed upon hire

  • B.S. in molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, or closely relative field
  • Demonstrated experience with laboratory techniques including molecular cloning, PCR, qRT-PCR, primer design, sterile sample handling, and culture of microbiological specimens
  • Demonstrated skill in data analysis with proficiencies in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing technology, in both sample preparation and data analysis, is not necessary but would distinguish a highly qualified candidate
  • Experience with flow cytometry is not necessary but would distinguish a highly qualified candidate
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically and logically
  • Natural inclination to seek out the data source and engage directly with problems
  • Ability and confidence to work independently at the bench
  • Adaptable and productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicates effectively and openly with colleagues and supervisors
  • Demonstrated success working within a team and collaborating with multiple groups in an organization
